It is ok to think differently than another. We cannot all be the same, or think the same. However, we do not have to choose to fight against one another. We do not have to be angry because someone else thinks differently, looks differently, or lives differently. You can be a Democrat and still treat a republican with respect, and vice versa.

We silly humans go through life thinking we are different from others because of skin color, religion, political affiliation… we then decide to feel negatively about that. I've done it, you've done it. Dare I say it may be human nature. Perhaps it is a natural tendency we are meant to overcome to elevate ourselves. Choose to elevate yourself then. The beautiful thing is that we have a choice. We can choose love instead of hate, peace instead of anger.

We are not divided just because of differences. Whether those differences are appearance or thought. Start to see that we are all the same. We are all human beings with intellect and emotions. We are all vulnerable and scared sometimes. If we are, or become divided, it is because we have chosen that. We always have the freedom to control our thoughts.

The art of allowing is to allow others to be who they are and accept them as they are. Rather than judge; allow. You do not have to agree or be the same as another, but you also do not have to resist the differences. Simply see all other human beings as important as you are, and allow them to be who they are.

We are not divided. We are the same.

With hope,

Lisa Karen
